Caravans, camper trailers and motorhomes — new or used, dealer or private sale. A Melbourne broker comparing our lender panel for terms that suit how you'll actually travel.
New or used, from a dealer or a private seller.
New and used caravans, camper trailers and motorhomes — we look at terms suited to how you'll use it, whether that's full-time travel or the occasional long weekend.
Get a caravan estimate →Most caravan loans are secured against the van itself. That usually means a lower interest rate than an unsecured personal loan, because the lender has the caravan as security. You borrow the purchase price, repay it over a fixed term, and the caravan is yours outright once the loan is paid off. Some loans also allow a balloon — a lump-sum final payment that lowers your regular repayments — which suits some buyers but needs a plan for how you'll cover it at the end.
A secured loan generally offers lower rates and higher borrowing amounts, but the lender will usually require comprehensive insurance on the van and may place conditions on its age. An unsecured personal loan is simpler and has no asset requirement, but rates are usually higher and loan sizes smaller. Which is better depends on the price and age of the van and your situation — we'll show you both where it makes sense.
Private sales are common with caravans. Lenders will normally run a PPSR (Personal Property Securities Register) check to confirm there's no money owing on the van, and may ask for a valuation or inspection before settlement. Talk to us before you pay a deposit so we can check what the lender will need.
Lenders assess whether repayments are comfortably affordable alongside your living costs and existing debts.
Age, price and type of caravan all affect which lenders will consider it and on what term.
Your credit file affects which lenders and rates are available — we match you with lenders suited to your profile.

It varies by lender. Many will consider vans up to around 10–15 years old at the end of the loan, and some panel lenders can look at older ones. Tell us the make, model and year and we'll check which lenders will fit.
